As I mentioned at the beginning of the year, I have a goal to bike 5,000 miles in 2017 to celebrate my 50th birthday.  This is just a little bit crazy since I haven’t biked more than 2,800 in one year before.  But like they say – go big or go home!

So I’ve got all sorts of tricks to keep me motivated:  I put the goal out there on social media (and I certainly don’t want to disappoint my three raving fans), I have a calendar in my closet to track each ride, and for bad weather days, I have a couple of addictive shows I can only watch on the stationary bike.

Riding with Professor Honey-Buns

Professor Honey-Buns shared another idea with me that I think is amazing – and it involves you.  Cool, huh??!!  I have two charitable causes that are near and dear to me.  Builders without Borders; because of the blessings it has brought to my family over the past five years and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; because my closest friend, Tammy, has struggled with this disease for 23 years and I really need her to be able to continue our adventures together.

Alaskan Adventures

Here’s how it will work – it’s so easy for you to play along!  You sponsor just a penny a mile, so the most it will cost is $50.  As of today, you have only committed to $4.23, but hopefully by December 31st, I have met my goal of 5,000 miles and all my devoted fans donate $50 to one of these great charities.   At the end of the year, I will match everyone that has sponsored me.  Super easy!

All you have to do is comment below, text or email me and I will put you on the list to give you the info on how to donate next January.  How can I NOT meet my goal if you all are participating??  Hope you tag along for the ride!
